This 2004 Land Rover Discovery II G4 Challenge is one of 200 examples produced to commemorate the 2003 G4 Challenge event, and it was fitted with an R380 five-speed manual transmission and a replacement frame. The truck is finished in Tangiers Orange over black upholstery and is powered by a 4.6-liter V8 linked with a dual-range transfer case and a locking center differential. An Old Man Emu lift kit and an aftermarket head unit were installed, and additional equipment includes 16″ alloy wheels, dual sunroofs, a rear ladder, power-adjustable front seats, and automatic climate control.
The truck is finished in Tangiers Orange and features G4 Challenge decals as well as dual sunroofs, fog lights, a front brush guard, roof rails with cross-bars, a rear ladder, a receiver hitch, rear mud flaps, alpine windows, and a spare tire mounted to the tailgate. A rearview camera was added and the front and rear bumpers and roof were repainted under previous ownership, at which time the sunroofs were replaced.
Black 16″ six-spoke alloy wheels are mounted with 285/75 Nitto Ridge Grappler tires. A 2.5″ Old Man Emu lift kit has been fitted along with stainless-steel brake lines.
The cabin features power-adjustable front seats upholstered in black along with automatic climate control and cruise control. A custom headliner and an aftermarket head unit with Apple CarPlay have been added.
The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 201k miles.
The 4.6-liter V8 was factory rated at 217 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque, and it was modified with Tornado Systems ECU programming in 2022. Additional noted work under current ownership included installing a 180-degree thermostat and replacing the gaskets for the valve covers, oil pan, and exhaust manifold along with the intake tubing, idler pulley, accessory belt, spark plugs, ignition coil packs, and the secondary air-pump and engine mounts.
Power is routed to all four wheels through an R380 five-speed manual transmission that was installed under current ownership along with a replacement frame, which the seller reports was powder-coated. The truck is equipped with a dual-range transfer case and a locking center differential. A fabricated exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers has been added.
