This 1978 Porsche 911SC coupe left the factory finished in paint-to-sample Viper Green Diamond, and it underwent a glass-out repaint in 2022. Power is provided by a 3.0-liter flat-six paired with a five-speed manual transaxle, and equipment includes 16″ Fuchs alloy wheels, a front strut brace, a sunroof, fog lights, R134a-based air conditioning, a Pioneer stereo, and seats trimmed in black leatherette.
The car was specified when new with a paint-to-sample Viper Green Diamond finish, and it was stripped, disassembled, and repainted in 2022. Exterior features include a sunroof, fog lights, dual side mirrors, and rear bumperettes. The hood struts were replaced in 2020 and the sunroof seal was replaced in 2022.
The 16″ Fuchs wheels are mounted with 205/55 front and 225/50 rear Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tires. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes with ventilated rotors. A front strut brace has been installed. The wheels and lug nuts were refinished in 2019 and the shocks were replaced at that time. The CV boots were replaced in 2020.
The cabin features bucket seats trimmed in black leatherette, and the selling dealer believes that they have been reupholstered. An R134a-based air conditioning system was installed in 2021, and a Pioneer stereo has been added.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a central tachometer with a 6,300-rpm redline as well as a 150-mph speedometer, a clock, and gauges for oil level, oil temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 133k miles.
The 3.0-liter flat-six features Bosch fuel injection and was factory rated at 172 horsepower and 189 lb-ft of torque. The chain tensioners were upgraded and the engine and transmission mounts were replaced in 2019. The top end of the engine was resealed in 2021. Work in preparation for the sale included an oil change and replacement of the spark plugs.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Type 915 five-speed manual transaxle. The heat exchangers were replaced in 2019, and the clutch was replaced in 2021.
The Porsche Production Specifications sheet lists factory colors, options, and a production completion date in February 1978.
