This 1970 MG MGB roadster is a black-on-black example that is powered by a 4.2-liter Rover V8 paired with a five-speed manual transmission. The car was repainted in black circa 2016 and is fitted with steel fender flares and Sebring-style front and rear valances. Additional exterior features include raydot-style side mirrors, front and rear tow hooks, a custom front grille, and a twin-tip exhaust outlet.
American Racing 17″ Torq Thrust wheels feature polished lips and are mounted with 225/45 front and 255/40 rear Dunlop Direzza ZII tires. The car is equipped with a Fast Cars Inc. subframe, adjustable coilover front suspension, CCE Engineering adjustable four-link coilover rear suspension, and a CCE Engineering Big Brake kit with Wilwood disc brakes at all for corners.
The cabin is equipped with ventilated black vinyl Cobra bucket seats, red Sabelt harnesses, a custom roll bar with padded roll hoops. Additional equipment includes front vent windows, aluminum pedals, a Sony Bluetooth CD player, and JBL cabin speakers. The windshield is a replacement, and the seller states the car is equipped with aftermarket sound deadening material and replacement weatherstripping.
The leather-wrapped Moto-Lita steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. Aftermarket gauges for oil pressure and coolant temperature are mounted to the right of the center console. The five-digit odometer shows 50k miles.
The aluminum 4.2-liter Rover V8 was installed by Glenn Towery and is equipped with Offenhauser valve covers, aftermarket headers, an MSD ignition system, an aluminum radiator, a mini starter, and dual fans. Service completed in June 2021 consisted of an oil change and a coolant flush.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a BorgWarner World Class T5 five-speed manual transmission and a Ford 8” rear end. The seller states that a McLeod clutch and an aftermarket Dutchman driveshaft and rear axles are installed.
