This 1970 BMW 2002 is said to have spent time in California before it was acquired by the current owner in New York in 2012. The car was repainted in Chaminox White during the refurbishment and features bright window and beltline trim, a blacked-out front grille, chrome bumpers, and dual side mirrors.
Silver-finished 13″ alloy wheels feature BMW center caps and are mounted with 185/70 Kumho Solus KR21 tires showing 2012 date codes. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel drum brakes, and the brake master cylinder was replaced in December 2017.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench re-trimmed in blue vinyl along with matching door panels and carpets. Equipment includes front vent windows, pop-out rear windows, and a Blaupunkt cassette player.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and a combination gauge for fuel level and engine temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 32k miles.
The 2.0-liter M10 inline-four was reportedly rebuilt in 2014 and drives the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Service since July 2016 included replacing the carburetor and changing the spark plugs.
