This 1969 MGC roadster is finished in British Racing Green over black upholstery and powered by a modified 2.9-liter inline-six mated to a four-speed manual gearbox with electronic overdrive. The car is reported to have been stripped to bare metal and repainted British Racing Green in 2011. Features include a black soft top and top boot as well as chrome bumpers, side trim, and a driver-side rear view mirror. Modifications consist of a louvered hood, quick-release fuel cap, stainless steel grille, Lucas PL700 headlamps, and a roll bar. The seller notes stone chips on the front valance, paint bubbling on the right rear rocker panel and fender, and corrosion in the left front castle rail.
Dayton 15″ knock-off wire wheels are mounted with 195/65 Dunlop Sport 5000 tires. Stopping power is provided by four-piston calipers and cross-drilled rotors at the front and drum brakes in the rear. The suspension has reportedly been modified with 1″ front torsion bars, and a removed 3/4″ rear sway bar is included in the sale.
The cabin features bucket seats trimmed in black leather with a matching dashboard, door panels, top boot, and carpets. Amenities include a dealer-installed center console and RaceQuip four-point harnesses for the driver and passenger.
The wood-rimmed MG steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 5,500-rpm redline, and gauges for oil pressure, fuel level, and coolant temperature. Additional auxiliary gauges are located in the center console. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 58k miles.
The 2.9-liter inline-six wears a chrome-finished valve cover and was reportedly modified with 9.5:1 overbore pistons, a D9 performance camshaft, triple Weber DCOE carburetors, a Maniflow header, a lightened flywheel, and a dual exhaust system. Recent service included an oil change and installation of new spark plugs.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission with an optional electrically-actuated overdrive and a 3.70:1 rear axle ratio. According to the seller, the clutch and overdrive unit were replaced within the last 1k miles.
