This 1998 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS was reportedly stored for approximately two decades before being acquired by the seller as a non-running project in 2019 and subsequently imported to Canada. Work performed during current ownership included a repaint in silver, replacement of the fuel tank, fuel pump, and timing belt assembly, and installation of a driver-controlled center differential, a limited-slip rear differential, and JDM-style grille, lighting, and seats. Originally finished in Acadia Green Metallic, the car was repainted silver and fitted with a WRX Type-RA Version-V rear bumper along with a front bumper, grille, vented aluminum hood, foglights sourced from a Version-III WRX. The side moldings and rocker extension mounting holes were filled, the sunroof and window seals were replaced, and the engine bay, underbody, and quarter panel gaps were reportedly seam sealed. Additional features include a rear spoiler with an integrated third brake light, amber corner lights, JDM-style taillights, and Rallytech mudflaps. The Carfax report lists an accident in June 1999 that resulted in damage to the front end. The removed factory spoiler, taillights, side moldings, rocker extensions, and rear window glass are included with the car.
Alloy 16″ wheels are wrapped in 205/55 BFGoodrich g-Force T/A tires. The anti-lock braking system was removed and an oversized master cylinder has been installed along with black-finished four-piston front and two-piston rear calipers. The suspension has been modified with aluminum STI front control arms and a WRX-sourced rear sway bar. Removed brake components are included with the car along with the factory front control arms.
Grey fabric JDM-style Sport front seats and a 60/40 folding rear bench have been added, and amenities include air conditioning, a factory cassette stereo, power windows, aluminum pedal covers, cruise control, and a Viper remote start and alarm system. The removed factory bench will accompany the car.
A leather-wrapped airbag steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer and a tachometer. The digital odometer indicates 12k miles.
The 2.5-liter EJ25D flat-four was factory rated at 165 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. The car was reportedly parked for approximately two decades following the accident in 1999, and the seller states that the fuel tank, fuel pump, and timing belt assembly were replaced following their acquisition in 2019. The battery has been relocated to the trunk. An oil change was performed in October 2021.
Power is delivered to all four wheels via a five-speed manual transaxle, a driver-controlled center differential, and a limited-slip rear differential.
