This 1969 Ford F-100 Ranger is a Styleside pickup that is finished in red over black vinyl and powered by a replacement 428ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Additional equipment includes a Dana 61 rear axle with Positraction, power steering, power front disc brakes, rear air helper springs, an auxiliary fuel tank, electronic ignition, air conditioning, tinted windows, and a dual exhaust system. The truck was delivered new to Damerow Ford in Beaverton, Oregon, and later spent time in Idaho, Arizona, Montana, and Alaska before being acquired by the seller in February 2021. Subsequent maintenance has reportedly included a recharge of the air conditioning refrigerant and replacement of the tires, rear pinion seal, powertrain mounts, universal joints, valve cover gaskets, intake manifold gasket, and spark plugs.
Originally Lunar Green (U), the truck was repainted in red during prior ownership. Features include Ranger badges, a hitch receiver, a lift-up hard bed cover, and chrome bumpers, side mirrors, and running boards. Touch-ups are present on the edge of the bed cover and rails.
Steel 15″ wheels with chrome outer rings wear Starfire Solarus AS tires that were reportedly installed during current ownership. The truck was equipped from the factory with power steering, while power front disc brakes were added under prior ownership along with Firestone Ride-Rite air helper springs at the rear. A spare wheel and tire are mounted in the bed.
The cabin features a bench seat upholstered in black vinyl with matching door panel inserts and carpets as well as a dashboard painted to match the body. Additional appointments include an aftermarket wood-rimmed steering wheel, hand-crank windows with billet handles, red seat belts, air conditioning, shoulder belts for the driver and passenger, and an Audiovox cassette stereo.
Instrumentation includes a 100-mph horizontal speedometer, gauges for fuel level, battery charging status, coolant temperature and oil pressure, and an aftermarket tachometer. The five-digit odometer shows 48k miles.
The replacement 428ci V8 was installed during prior ownership and features Cobra Jet cylinder heads, an open-element air cleaner, finned valve covers, a Holley carburetor, a Crane XR700 electronic ignition system, and tubular headers feeding a dual exhaust system. A 57-gallon auxiliary fuel tank has been mounted in the bed. Work since February 2021 is said to have included a recharge of the R134a air conditioning refrigerant and replacement of the engine mounts, valve cover gaskets, intake manifold gasket, belts, and spark plugs.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed C6 automatic transmission and a Dana 61 rear end with 3.31:1 gearing, 35-spline axles, and Positraction internals. The transmission was rebuilt in 2010, and work under current ownership has included replacement of the transmission mounts, universal joints, differential carrier bearing, and the rear differential pinion seal.
The Deluxe Marti Report lists initial delivery to Damerow Ford in Beaverton, Oregon, equipment and colors, and a production date of September 11, 1968.
The truck is supplied with manufacturer’s literature, instruction manuals for the aftermarket equipment, and service records and parts receipts dating back to the 2000s.
