This 1968 Pontiac GTO coupe was purchased new in Boise, Idaho by the seller’s late father-in-law. The car was delivered new in Verdoro Green with a black vinyl top over a black interior, and power comes from a 400ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Other equipment includes a limited-slip differential, 14″ Rally II wheels with beauty rings, air conditioning, an AM radio, and an eight-track player. The exterior has been refinished and the interior has been refreshed, and service in late 2020 consisted of the packing the front wheel bearings, adjusting the brakes, performing an alignment, changing the oil, and replacing the air filter.
The car was delivered new in Verdoro Green (Q) with a black top and tinted glass. The exterior reportedly has been refinished and the vinyl top cover replaced.
14″ Rally II wheels wear PMD center caps as well as beauty rings and are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. In 2020 the front wheel bearings were packed, the brakes were adjusted, and an alignment was performed.
The black interior (223) has been reupholstered as necessary, aLording to the seller. Equipment includes air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, an AM radio, an under-dash eight-track player, and a Hurst “His & Hers” shifter with a gate for gear selection.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel replaces the factory unit. Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The analog clock is inoperable. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 51k miles and has rolled over.
The 400ci V8 is said to have been rebuilt at some point, and the carburetor and mufflers have been replaced. In August 2020 the car was serviced by Restoration Rods of Boise, Idaho with an oil change and replacement of the battery and the air filter.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and a Safe-T-Track limited-slip differential.
Order paperwork from Miller Stephan of Boise, Idaho is dated May 27, 1968 and indicates $1,537 in optional equipment for a total price of $4,788.
