This 1972 Datsun 510 two-door sedan was acquired by the seller in 2006 and has been modified with fiberglass BRE-style bodywork, a six-point roll cage, and an SR20DET inline-four fitted with a T70 turbocharger, a GReddy intercooler, CP Racing pistons, and an AEM engine computer. The car is finished in matte green over black leather seats sourced from a C4 Corvette, and additional equipment includes a five-speed manual transmission with a short shifter, a 4.11:1 rear end with welded spider gears, 13″ Libre wheels, and KYB gas shocks. The front disc brakes were recently overhauled and the rear wheel cylinders, spark plugs, battery, and fuel filter were replaced. This 510 is not currently legal for street usage and is offered with records from the modifications and a clean Texas title in the seller’s name.
The exterior has been repainted Rock Moss Flat Green and fitted with a BRE-style fiberglass hood, trunk, front valance, and fender flares. The bumpers have been removed, the side moldings and door handles have been deleted, and door poppers with keyless entry have been added. Additional equipment includes hood pins, aftermarket window tint, and chrome side mirrors mounted on the front fenders.
American Racing Libre 13×7″ alloy wheels are wrapped in Visa VX60 tires sized 185/60 up front and BFGoodrich Radial T/A rubber measuring 235/50 out back. KYB GR2 shock absorbers have been added. The front disc brakes were reportedly overhauled and the rear wheel cylinders replaced in 2021.
The black leather front seats were sourced from a C4 Corvette and are fitted with RJS racing harnesses. The dashboard, rear seats, and cargo area trim have been removed, while a six-point roll cage has been added, along with a driver’s window net, a B&M shift knob, a fan, a full-length rear view mirror, and a fire extinguisher. The battery has been relocated to the trunk and a cut-off switch installed.
A leather-wrapped MOMO steering wheel frames an AutoMeter 10k-rpm tachometer and a steering column-mounted shift light. Additional instrumentation includes AutoMeter fuel level, boost pressure, water level, and oil temperature gauges along with an AEM air-fuel ratio gauge and an HKS turbo timer. No odometer is installed, thus total mileage is unknown.
The turbocharged 2.0-liter SR20DET inline-four is said to have been modified and installed by PowerFab Automotive of Spring, Texas. An Optima Red Top battery was installed in 2021, and modifications include the following components:
Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission sourced from an S13 Nissan 240SX and a differential with welded spider gears.
